Hi Every one! I am Aadhira Shree doing my 7th Grade at Tiruchy Public School in Trichy, India.

My mother works for Dextrasys Technologies as a software associate. Dextrasys team goes for a trek outdoors on the hills, once in a year during December / January, when the weather is cool. Little grown up kids can join the treks and this year I decided to join the Dex team to a trek to Thalamalai to see what is it all about. This was my first trek ever and thought I will share my experience with you all.

Prior to embarking on my journey to Thalamalai, I was filled with excitement as this was my first trek. This trail is a superb option for those interested in birding, hiking, and leisurely walks, as it is unlikely that you will encounter many other individuals while exploring. This trek leads you deep into the heart of the Thalamalai hills, an area renowned for its diverse and lush green landscapes. Additionally, this trail is conveniently located near the renowned Thalamalai Temple, just a short distance away. The Thalamalai Temple is a stunning temple situated atop the hill in Thalamalai.

Thalamalai boasts numerous hiking trails that lead you through verdant forests and provide awe-inspiring vistas of the encircling mountains. It is highly recommended that you take a guided trek to fully appreciate the natural splendor of this locale. While embarking on my climb, I initially found it to be relatively effortless, but after a 20 or 30 minutes, it became more strenuous, causing me to take a brief break. Despite struggling to navigate the rocky terrain, we eventually arrived at Vazhukuparai after a long trek, where we took a brief respite.

Subsequently, we resumed our ascent. Vazhukuparai appeared to be similar to a slide, and as a result, I had difficulty keeping my footing. I noticed that many individuals had a stick in hand to assist them with maintaining their balance.

Just a few minutes into our journey, I was delighted to spot a myriad of stunning butterflies fluttering around. Our travels eventually led us to Mandabam, where we took a break and rested for a while. It was there that I chanced upon a remarkable well that left me in awe. We soon resumed our journey and after a short while, we reached the summit of the hill, which was truly an awe-inspiring sight.

Once we had enjoyed the picturesque view, we began our descent towards Mandabam, where we paused to have lunch before continuing our journey downwards. As I was finding it challenging to maintain my balance while descending, my mother kindly lent me her stick which made it easier. Upon finally arriving at Vazhukuparai after a long and tiring journey, I took a brief rest to recuperate. Eventually, we reached the foothills.

Upon reaching the foothills, I was thrilled by the experience and eager to go trekking once more. Initially, I anticipated the trek to be challenging, but it turned out to be only moderately difficult.

It was a wonderful experience of meeting all the Dex team members and spending a day with them, I look forward to the next opportunity to trek again with team Dex!.
